A Level Economics Tuition That Rewards Thinking, Not Memorising

Economics marks are won in the second half of an answer. Most students can explain a concept; fewer can apply it to the context in front of them and then reach a judgement the examiner can credit.

Ram Sir teaches Cambridge International AS & A Level Economics online, building the analytical chain — cause, effect, diagram, context, evaluation — until it becomes the student's default way of writing.

Syllabus areas covered

  • Basic economic ideas: scarcity, opportunity cost, the price mechanism, elasticity and market failure.
  • Microeconomics at A Level: costs and revenues, market structures, labour markets and efficiency.
  • Macroeconomics: aggregate demand and supply, inflation, unemployment, growth and the policy trade-offs between them.
  • Government intervention, taxation, subsidies and the evaluation of policy effectiveness.
  • International economics: trade, protectionism, exchange rates and balance of payments.
  • Diagram accuracy — labelled axes, correct shifts and the explanation that must accompany every diagram.

The three skills that decide the grade

  • Precision of language: using economic terms correctly instead of everyday paraphrase.
  • Application: pulling the specific country, industry or data from the question into the answer.
  • Evaluation: weighing magnitude, time period, assumptions and who is affected, then committing to a conclusion.

Multiple-choice papers are drilled separately, because they punish loose reading rather than weak knowledge. Students learn to eliminate distractors systematically.

Economics questions students ask

Do you teach Cambridge International A Level Economics?

Yes. Ram Sir teaches Cambridge International AS Level and A Level Economics alongside Accounting and Business, covering microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade and the government policy topics.

How do you teach Economics essay and evaluation questions?

Essays are built from a repeatable structure: define, explain the mechanism with a diagram, apply it to the context in the question, then evaluate with a judgement that follows from the analysis rather than a generic conclusion.

Do you cover data response questions?

Yes. Data response is practised with real past paper extracts so students learn to quote evidence, handle numbers accurately and answer the command word that was actually used.
